Capelli Salon COVID-19 UPDATE

Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding as we work to reschedule 2 months of guest bookings, followed by new requests.

Please follow us as we work through some new safety protocols.
Please come to your appointment alone, if you require assistance that’s fine however the helper must wait outside during your visit.

Due to time constraints, last-minute changes to your originally booked service are very difficult at this time. All efforts will be made, however, please be patient if we cannot accommodate.

Please arrive on time for your scheduled appointment. When you do arrive call us 604.876.3342 and please wait outside our door…we wish to welcome you with a few simple questions.

For ALL of our safety … staff, guests and walk in shoppers will be required to wear a mask at all times in the salon. Upon entry, a sanitization station is set up immediately for everyone to participate in. We also use anti-bacterial hand wash in the restroom and urge you to wash your hands for at least 20 seconds.

If you are having a service done, bring a mask that loops behind your ears…if you do not have one, we will have to provide you with a disposable, non-medical grade mask for $2.00.

Sadly, we will not be providing our welcome tray or coffee/tea at this time. Masks must be worn during the entire service.

Do your best to travel light: leave bags, jackets etc. in the car or at home.

It is important to us that we are globally responsible and ensuring staff and guest safety. We will temporarily expand our Green Circle Eco Fee to an $8 flat rate. This includes COVID-19 safety precautions, PPE, extra sanitization, along with waste management and recycling of all PPE.

You will notice the salon is quieter, with less team members working. We have divided our team into 2 smaller teams with alternating days in the salon. This is to ensure we do not go over maximum capacity within our space, and minimizing risk for guests, staff and the salon. Workstations have been positioned 2 meters apart, and plexiglass partition has been installed at our front desk.

We have extended hours to 7 days per week for the foreseeable future.
Cancellation policy- We appreciate a minimum of 48 hours’ notice if needing to cancel your appointment. However, if you are experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19 or are unwell, please cancel your appointment. There will be no penalty for a last-minute cancellation.
The health and safety of our staff is of the highest priority, and we will happily reschedule your appointment, for when you are feeling 100%, or with your doctor’s clearance.

We are excited to get back to work soon. Although the Premier’s announcement came last week that hair salons could re-open this month.

It is with the understanding that the guidelines are currently being worked on with Health Officials and Work Safe B.C. for the hair and beauty industry to safely re-open.

To date, the Public Health Order to close personal service establishments until May 31, 2020, has not been changed or lifted.

Once the beauty industry safety guidelines are approved and announced, we will need some time to implement those protocols and procedures to ensure staff and guest safety. In the meantime, we have been working to source PPE thru our suppliers, have ordered plexiglass for the front desk and are making changes within the salon to ensure 2 meters safe social distancing between stations and sinks. Protocols and procedures are in progress, and staff safety training is underway. We are making changes to our salon hours, and the way we schedule stylists and clients to avoid any risk or spread of the virus. The safety of our staff and guests is our top priority.

We will announce our re-opening date once we are confident that we can operate under the guidelines set for our industry.

We will begin rebooking clients in the coming days by phone. The order in which we will be making contact with be as follows:

Phase 1: Clients who were pre-booked, who had their appointment canceled due to COVID-19 salon closure will be contacted first to offer a new appointment option.

Phase 2: Guests who have pre-purchased a gift card online or picked up curbside during our salon closure will be contacted in the same order of purchase date and offered appointment options.

Phase 3: Wait list option. Email info@capellisalon.ca and request to be on our wait list, noting which services you are looking for, and the stylist you are interested in seeing, along with a contact number for us to reach you for appointment booking options.

  • We are very hopeful to have the Public Health order lifted for June 1, 2020.
  • We will update our site with an official reopening date as soon as possible.

B.C. Public Health Order was issued; closing personal services establishments until May 30, 2020 which is subject to revision, cancellation, or extension by B.C. Health Officials.

We are monitoring the COVID-19 situation closely, tracking B.C.’s Health Officer, Dr. Bonnie Henry’s daily updates, as we eagerly await a date for when the service sector can safely get back to work.
It is clear that this return will pose its challenges, but we have been busy behind the scenes, preparing for re-opening; including but not limited to sourcing PPE for our staff and guests, thorough salon cleaning and safety preparations, and online safety training to ensure a safe environment for our future re-opening.

The novel coronavirus, COVID-19 is at the forefront of everyone’s thoughts and during this difficult time, health and safety must be the top priority. As of today, we have made the decision to close Capelli Salon until further notice. We will update you as the situation develops and re-open to welcome everyone back as soon as we can.

In the meantime, our front desk services will be available thru email for all your inquiries, hair-care, skin-care, make-up
and gift card purchases. Email us if you are needing some haircare, and we can arrange a special pick up or delivery for you.

For those with prebooked appointments…we apologize for the inconvenience. We will contact you directly to reschedule any appointments affected by the closure.
